So, I was handed this great book after asking Caitlynn, "What's your favorite Wiccan book you own?"
Wiccan : Beliefs and PracticesBy : Gary Cantrell
Let me tell you this first. I opened this book knowing very little to nothing about Wicca. All I knew was what little bits and pieces I grabbed from conversations with Caitlynn. Beyond that, call me ignorant.
I was a bit apprehensive reading it at first, despite my interest in the subject. I'm not sure why, but I think it was a weaker bit of me that was holding me back from happiness.
Happiness you say? It's had that effect on you already?
No, not directly so. But I am happy I opened this book today, because it holds a lot of wisdom in it's pages. No, not magick wisdom or voodoo wisdom or that stuff. It teaches you peace. Inner peace. And it says pretty much that from the get go.
Now, I am in no place yet to be calling myself a witch, or a practitioner of Wicca or "The Old Religion" as I learned it is sometimes called (along with a few others). I still have much research to do ON the practice first. And I'm not even sure I will practice it. But, it's very interesting nonetheless.
I'm off to study it more.
Yes, study.
